To deliver high-quality PLAB 2 mock exams, we utilise a growing team, currently comprising of over 27 trained Simulators and 21 experienced Examiners. Below are profiles of selected team members.
Lauren Andrew is a Registered General Nurse by background, with a specific interest in Cardiology and experience in a wide range of healthcare settings. She is currently working in NHS and Private hospitals. As part of Lauren's ongoing development she has undertaken various scenario based training sessions so has a good understanding of what examiners are looking for.
Sharon has extensive experience in the NHS as a radiographer and as a clinical and administration manager. Her background demonstrates expertise in patient interaction, including managing sensitive conversations, delivering difficult news, and handling challenging situations. Her training in areas such as conflict resolution and safeguarding ensures realistic simulation of NHS Patients providing candidates with invaluable preparation.
Amy is a motivated 4th-year medical student at University College London with a passion for teaching and learning. Her experience includes several years of practicing OSCEs as a simulated patient, and she is adept at simulating patients based on her clinical attachments and medical school training.
Mayowa Bello is a dedicated medical student at the University of East Anglia, with a proven ability to effectively engage in teaching and assessment. His experience includes acting in mock OSCEs, providing constructive feedback to candidates, and serving as an examiner. Mayowa has developed strong interpersonal and communication skills throughout his medical studies and also holds a qualification in teaching. Additionally, he has experience as a PAL mentor, tutoring younger medical students, and has facilitated interview practice for prospective medical school applicants
Dr. Alana Chamberlain is a GMC Registered, New Zealand trained Medical Doctor with experience across General Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics & Gynaecology. She excelled in finding tips and memory aids to guide your study and practical delivery. She is an experienced tutor, including proving ultrasound tutorials to UK doctors. As she has recently navigated her PLAB 2 Examinations and GMC Registration - she aims to pass on the approach that resulted in her success.
Dr. Mudassir Pirwani is a dedicated medical professional with a focus on medical education and research. He completed his medical degree from King's College London and is currently completing a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Medical Education. Dr Pirwani has spent considerable time mentoring and preparing medical students for their OSCE examinations through his contributions he was awarded Honorary Life Membership by the King’s College London Students’ Union in 2022.
With the alignment of standards owing to UKMLA Standardisation, Dr Pirwani is enthusiastic about enhancing the educational resources available to International Medical Graduates.
Dr. Saad Khizer is a GMC-registered surgeon completing his ENT residency in Pakistan. Dr. Khizer demonstrated exceptional clinical skills by passing all 16 stations of his PLAB 2 exam. His experience includes working as a Specialty Registrar in ENT at PAF Hospital, Islamabad, where he is developing his expertise in managing both emergency and elective ENT patients. Dr. Khizer also has a solid foundation in general medicine and surgery, gained through his experience as a Medical Officer and House Officer, and has further enhanced his skills with training in Advanced Life Support, Basic Trauma Life Support, and other key areas.
Dr Sara Giocondo Costa is a GMC-registered doctor with a first-class Medical Degree (87%) and clinical experience from foundation training in Argentina and a two-month clinical attachment in the Heart and Lung transplant Unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. During her PLAB preparations, she worked as a Medical Linguist for the NHS, interpreting medical consultations between Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and English, enhancing her communication skills. Dr Costa also worked as an Undergraduate Physiology Tutor Assistant, teaching second-year medical students. She is passionate about teaching and helping medical professionals achieve success in their UKMLA exams.
Dr. Sohaib Nazir is a dedicated medical professional with experience in acute and general medicine settings. He has worked as a Medical Officer, with responsibilities including patient assessment, treatment planning, and multidisciplinary team collaboration. Dr. Nazir is GMC registered and skilled in various clinical procedures and diagnostics, committed to providing high-quality patient care.
Dr. Aimen Farid is GMC Registered, having completed her education and training in Pakistan. Dr Farid is passionate about teaching, organising study groups and leading tutorials to support her peers. She excelled academically, maintaining a 75%+ average during her medical degree.
Dr Angelin Augustine is a GMC Registered Medical Graduate of Varna University, Bulgaria. She is dedicated and compassionate, with a strong ability to work in fast-paced environments, demonstrating excellent patient care, team collaboration, and leadership skills. Angelin has experience in teaching, demonstrated by organizing and leading tutorials for medical students and providing feedback and academic support.
